Blog Goals

This has been quite a busy year. But even though work has been fun and I have been doing a lot. I haven't been doing as many personal book things as I would like. So I wanted to write up something about things I want to accomplish in 2026. Not only to have an outline, but to hold myself accountable as well!

"It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?" - Henry David Thoreau

Reading Goals

(36 Books Total)

This year I only read 12 books. Im not too sure i'll make it through another before 2026 starts. But that means I averaged one book a month. If im being honest, I came into the year with the hopes of reading a book a week ( I know.)

So in light of my progress this year, I aim to read an average of three books a month in 2026. Which isn't much less than a book a week, but it feels better for my brain. It gives me freedom to miss a week, take a break some days, and give me wiggle room those weeks I read nonstop.

My best hope is that I blow this goal out of the water and can read every book that is unread in my house. But if it was that easy I would have book lovers from all over knocking on my door for the secret.

Unlucky or lucky for me, I can see eight books on my desk already that I want to read next year. I will no doubt have no trouble at all finding reading material.

Stock Goals

I am hoping to collect a range of materials next year, that can be used for my eventual stock in bookselling. Even though I am a seller for my current shop, and am very committed to the store. I eventually want to either branch off my own brand and bookselling, or have the ability to supplement myself through solo selling.

So that means spending time surfing catalogs, going to book fairs,  and finding random books in random places. I hope I can find books, ephemera, art, and items like pins. I really enjoy talking about books, but also the ability to show off items that are maybe weirdly related like pins, clothing, and art.

I believe the Antiqurian book trade is growing to include more under its umbrella.  Just like we saw the inclusion of ephemera in recent years, I see a growth in other items on the horizon as well.

Blog Goals

I also want to stay on top of writing for this blog. Writing has always been a great outlet for my brain and creativity. So if I can write weekly or even bi-weekly for this blog I will be very happy about it.

It would be a great way to keep track of my progress in the book world! I also want to do write ups on authors, book fairs, and general book life when possible!

Until next year guys!
